Cherokee is a very fast, flexible, and easy to configure Web server. It supports widespread technologies: FastCGI, SCGI, PHP, CGI, TLS and SSL encrypted connections, Virtual hosts, Authentication, on the fly encoding, Apache compatible log files, and much more. It also provides an easy to use configuration interface that allows you to configure the server from top to bottom without editing a text configuration file.

A completely new rule based behavior subsystem has
been integrated, supporting plugins and rule
inheritance. The MIME type configuration mechanism
has been also rewritten. The general compilation
process is better now. BSD and Mac OS X support
has been improved. The configuration Web interface
usability is better now, and it has reflected all
the new features that landed on this new server
version.
