SystemRescueCd is a Linux system available from a bootable CDROM that provides an easy way to perform administrative tasks on your computer, such as creating and editing the partitions of the hard disk or backing up data. It contains a lot of system utilities (such as parted, partimage, and fstools), and basic programs (such as editors, midnight commander, and network tools). It also includes GParted, a Partition Magic clone that makes editing partitions easy with its graphical user interface. This CDROM aims to be very easy to use and accessible to everybody, and it also provides advanced personalization features. License: GNU General Public License (GPL) Changes: The default kernel was updated to 2.6.25, and the alternative kernel to 2.6.24.7. Unionfs was switched to aufs (another union file system). Boot from network via PXE or with docache now work with only 256MB of RAM. Updated the btrfs filesystem support to 0.14 (kernel patch and utils). The graphical environment was updated to Xorg-server version 1.4, ntfs3g to 1.2506, and gparted to 0.3.7. Support was added for 256-byte inodes in ext3fs in grub-0.97. A PDF viewer (epdfview-0.1.6-r1) was added and a shell problem with the serial console was fixed.
