The Cell includes the fastest Smith-Waterman implementation ever made on standard hardware - nucleotide searches are accelerated up to 144 times. You can use the usual command line BLAST interface, including the traditional BLAST parameters, you can run it through the graphical user-interface of your CLC workbench, or use a web interface.
The remarkable speed-up is achieved through innovative use of SIMD technology that unleashes already existing power in your computer processor.
