X Persistent Remote Applications (xpra) is "screen
for X". It lets you run applications remotely
(like ordinary X or VNC), but unlike ordinary X,
these applications are "persistent" if you lose
your connection, or even if you want to switch to
another computer. Also unlike VNC, they are
ordinary applications on your desktop managed by
your window manager, not trapped in a box.

Changes:
The most notable new feature in this release is
the ability to restart or upgrade a running xpra
server, without disturbing the programs running
inside it. In addition, many important bugs were
fixed, including one where windows would
occasionally stop updating, one where stray
busy-looping processes would be left behind on
servers, one where an X server bug caused massive
slowdowns (now worked around), and so on.
Additionally, the backspace key should now always
work, and window class/instance information is
exported.
