mklircrc is a program to help automatically
generate LIRC configuration files. It allows the
user to associate buttons on the remote control
with high-level actions rather than low-level
commands. By annotating a lircd.conf with a few
words, the user can tell mklircrc which high-level
task like "pause" or "raise volume" should be
connected to the respective button. mklircrc will
use this input to write a LIRC control file that
will cause appropriate behavior with the various
applications it supports: currently mythtv, xine,
and mplayer.
