DIAP 0.3.0 (Default branch) |

DIAP is a set of Bash shell scripts to set up a test system using three backup nodes either between sites (e.g. between offices and homes) or over WANs. The end result is a DVTL (Distributed Virtual Tape Library). Nodes can be dedicated to storage or used for existing services. The goal is to use round robin synchronisation of a full-differential 30 day backup pool, where the source of data ranges from a personal laptop to a file store, over unused bandwidth where the data rate is dynamically controlled, including compression, according to load and availability. Some of the features above have been implemented, and the scripts are a toolkit to help users set up their own project as well as help the writer improve the system.
