Evince is a document viewer for multiple document
formats, such as PostScript, PDF, single page and
multi-page TIFF, DVI, DjVu, and others. It
features page thumbnails, printing via the GNOME
or GTK+ printing frameworks, and searching within
the documents. It supports the displaying of PDF
indexes and the viewing of encrypted PDF documents.

Changes:
GIO is now used instead of gnome-vfs. A new plugin system for backends was introduced. Libspectre is used as a PostScript backend if available. Support for page transitions was added. The message area is now used for notification about errors. Print settings are now taken from document metadata if available. A command line option was added for search. Support for links with URIs like mailto: was added. Memory consumption was reduced by rendering images on demand. Several filename quoting and whitespace issues were eliminated. Many other bugs were fixed.
