Logger is a log queueing and optimization utility. It can handle logs larger than 2GB and perform automatic nightly log rotation without affecting services. Any application that writes a log can be maintained be Logger, including syslogd. It is light, small, and fast, emphasizes security, and reduces drive usage through memory queueing. License: GNU General Public License v2 Changes: This release can fully replace klogd and syslogd. This is under testing and should be considered beta. Initial testing with a system running Logger only (sys/klogd disable) shows a dramatic performance increase. Minor issues with the Logger shutdown sequence have been resolved.
