libproxy is a library that provides automatic
proxy configuration management. It manages proxy
settings across GNOME, KDE, and other environments
while implementing proxy autodiscovery and
seamless network topology adjustment.

auto-detection (working PAC and WPAD
implementations), GNOME support, KDE support,
NetworkManager support, the ability for system
administrators to lock down proxy configuration, a
command line utility which exposes the API, and
