OpenLink Virtuoso is a scalable, high-performance
SQL-200n compliant object-relational database
engine. It provide sophisticated database
management for SQL, XML, and RDF. All interaction
with Virtuoso occurs via its support of industry
standard query languages, protocols, APIs, and
data formats such as: ODBC, JDBC, OLE-DB, ADO.NET,
XMLA, SQL, SPARQL, XQuery, SOAP, HTTP, WebDAV,
SyncML, Atom (Publishing and Syndication), RSS,
RDF, and more.

Changes:
This release includes transparent
content-negotiation for URL-rewriting, helping
with Linked Data deployment. There are new
providers for the Jena, Sesame, and Redland
frameworks; new Sponger cartridges to handle
Amazon and Yahoo data sources; various performance
improvements in the SPARQL engine and the
RDF-import process. The ODS Application Suite now
includes use of the OAT "<a>++" tag for
related linked data lookups; it supports the SCOT
tag-cloud ontology and the OpenSocial API,
enabling additional interoperability with other
social networking platforms.
