iloog is a Gentoo-based live CD targeted mainly at students and scientists. It features UnionFS filesystem support that enables you to write everywhere on the LiveCD and install extra packages, a graphical X environment through the Fluxbox window manager, many programming editors and IDEs, and a plethora of scientific applications, including Octave, Namd, Merlin, and full (La)TeX support. License: GNU General Public License (GPL) Changes: iloog now uses squashfs-lzma and is able to contain more packages than before. A menu-driven ISOLINUX boot menu is provided for ease of use. Kernel version 2.6.22 was included. The Fluxbox theme was cleaned up. New scripts were written for changing the X keyboard layout and for starting the Xvesa (kdrive) server. Bootsplash support was added.
