ziproxy 2.3.5_BETA (Beta branch) |
|
|
Ziproxy is a forwarding (non-caching) proxy that
gzips text and HTML files, and reduces the size of
images by converting them to lower quality JPEGs.
It is intended to increase the speed for low-speed
Internet connections and it's suitable for both
home and professional usage. Ziproxy is fully
configurable and also features transparent proxy
mode, preemptive name resolution, operation in
either daemon mode or (x)inetd mode, a detailed
access log with compression statistics, basic
authentication, and more.

Changes:
x86_64 compatibility problems were fixed. A new
configuration parser was added. Stream-to-stream
gzip compression was added. The access log now
reports the compressed size of compress-and-stream
data. Limited support for partial HTTP data
download was added. A workaround was added for a
MSIE bug. Miscellaneous bugs related to
gzip/gunzip routines were fixed. Several bugs
which may have prevented compatibility with less
common OSes/architectures were fixed.
