Talend Open Studio is an ETL (Extract, Transform,
and Load) tool. Talend Open Studio can perform
jobs that range from datawarehouse feeding to
database synchronization, as well as file format
transformations. Its graphical interface is made
with Eclipse RCP, and data related scripts are
generated in Perl or Java. The application was
designed to be extended with components written by
users.

New features for Java generation include AS400,
stored procedure call, SCD, simple filtering,
generic JDBC connector, LDAP, Vtiger connector,
flow replication, job export as a WebService, SCP,
"wait for file" and "wait for sql", Groovy
support, dedicated flow for database output
reject, and Jasper output. Performance was
strongly improved for complex jobs, flow metering,
file listing recursivity, lookup multiple matches,
flow merge, SCP, "wait for file" and "wait for
sql", Oracle/PostgreSQL connection sharing were
added for Perl generation. Context management was
redesigned. The GUI is based on Eclipse 3.3.
