ufdbGuard is a URL filter. The URL filter blocks access to sets of Web sites on the Internet and is designed to be used with the popular Web proxy server, Squid. ufdbGuard also dynamically detects proxy tunnels and blocks access. The multi-threaded daemon uses a fast algorithm that does 25,000 URL verifications per second on an Intel 2.8 GHz Xeon CPU. On a Conroe Core 2 at 2.4 GHz, the speed is nearly doubled.
