NERD (Network Equipment and Resources Database) is
a flexible database for miscellaneous network
resources that can be extended to support any
data. It centralizes most of the network
management information into one place. This
database can be a source for other management
systems. It also has built-in TACACS+ server with
management module. NERD is not a management
system; it is network-management aiding-framework.
It currently helps to manage CISCO devices, but it
was designed to support other vendors, too.
