It works together with rsyslogd, an enhanced syslog deamon but can also team up with any other application capable of writing to a database. PeerStream Audio Video Streaming server is a lightweight, scalable and multi-purpose streaming server for broadcasting nearly every known audio and video format. It supports all major formats and can be configured to use other, not directly supported media types. Encoding of live data is also possible. Streaming via unicast, multicast, podcast, UPnP shares and bandwidth-saving via a peer-to-peer-network is supported. Figaro's Password Manager 2 (FPM2) is a GTK2 port of Figaro's Password Manager, originally developed by John Conneely. It allows you to securely store your passwords, which are encrypted with the blowfish algorithm. It allows you to copy passwords or usernames to the clipboard or primary selection. If a password is for a Web site, FPM can keep track of the URLs of your login screens and can automatically launch your browser. You can also teach FPM to launch other applications. FPM can sort your passwords into categories. Finally, it has a password generator that can help you choose good passwords. phpCheckZ is a Web utility that allows you to create dynamic checklists for your Web site. It features an unlimited number of checklists (up to 250 fields per list), an optional chart for each list, a member system, and a bridge system (to use other member systems). You can choose to display checklists on your Web site with a small snippet of code or use the backend as a frontend. phpCheckZ can also be translated to languages other than English. C Minimal Perfect Hashing Library is a portable LGPL library to create and to work with minimal perfect hashing functions. The library encapsulates the newest and more efficient algorithms available in the literature in an easy-to-use, production-quality, fast API. The library is designed to work with big entries that cannot fit in the main memory. It has been used successfully for constructing minimal perfect hashing functions for sets with billions of keys. License: GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) Changes: This version adds the internal memory bdz algorithm and utility functions to (de)serialize minimal perfect hash functions from mmap'ed memory regions. The new bdz algorithm for minimal perfect hashes requires 2.6 bits per key and is the fastest one currently available in the literature.

MyOODB (My Object-Oriented Database) is an integrated database and Web environment that provides true distributed objects, implicit/explicit multi-concurrent nested transactions, seamless Web tunneling, and database self-healing. MyOODB is one part of a two part SDK solution. Together with MyOOWEB, MyOOSDK provides a development environment for people who desire small, fast, but powerful applications. Bufonidae is a database query tool inspired by TOAD and implemented as a Java application. It should work with all databases that support JDBC. A new main package was created, and everything residing in the root was moved to it. Some strings in the main Bufonidae class were externalized. This release hasn't been tested extensively.

I'm Cross! is a script that installs cross-compiler toolchains that target Microsoft Windows on a developer's Linux workstation. Additionally, it installs cross-compiled versions of various libraries, such as wxWidgets, GTK+, Allegro, PCRE, libxml2, zlib, and pthreads-w32, as well as installer (setup.exe) creation tools. This provides an easy way to set up a Linux workstation to simultaneously build Linux and Windows executables from the same source tree, and then to create installer programs for those executables. Finally, it provides sample programs for each supported library to illustrate the methods for cross-compilation and installer-creation. Cedar Backup is a software package designed to manage system backups for a pool of local and remote machines. Cedar Backup understands how to back up filesystem data as well as MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and Subversion repositories. It can also be easily extended to support other kinds of data sources. Cedar Backup is focused around weekly backups to a single CD or DVD disc. It supports multisession discs, allowing you to add incremental data to a disc on a daily basis. Cedar Backup also provides a Python library of backup-related functionality. SCMS is a secure content management system. nautilus-follow-symlink is a nautilus extension that adds a context menu entry to nautilus on symbolic links pointing to directories, which once clicked opens the pointed directory (the real path) in a window. It does so both when right clicking on the folder icon or on the contents of an opened symbolic link. License: GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) Changes: Initial support for GNOME 2.22.

BG-Tiny Linux Bootdisk is a Linux bootdisk that does not use a ramdisk, so it will run on computers with very little RAM. It is basically a somewhat extended fork of Tiny Linux Bootdisk. It is based on Linux 2.4 series, uClibc, and BusyBox. It includes dosfsprogs, e2fsprogs, gpart, lilo, and ms-sys. Supported filesystems are ext2, ext3, iso9660, tmpfs, and vfat. License: Freely Distributable Changes: The Linux kernel has been updated to 2.4.36.3. The devfsd applet has been removed from busybox, since it is no longer needed. The init applet has been removed from busybox, and an extra busybox compiled that contains only init and halt/poweroff/reboot. This saves a lot of RAM, since not all busybox code has to be kept in RAM when running init. When compared to version 0.7, the total amount of free RAM (free low RAM + buffers + cached) is now 844kb instead of 772kb on a machine with 4 MB of RAM.

Java syslogd is a simple Java syslog daemon with multiple screens and filters.

LimeSurvey (formerly PHPSurveyor) is a Web application that interacts with MySQL, MSSQL, or Postgres to develop surveys, publish surveys, and collect responses to surveys. Once a survey has been created, data can be inserted into the survey either by a "pretty" public screen which presents each question one at a time, or by a quick and nasty data entry screen. It includes the capacity to generate individualized "tokens", so that invitations can be issued to participants. It also has the capacity to set conditions on whether questions will display (branching), numerous question types, and a basic statistics function. This means you can define settings you couldn't directly modify before, and front-ends can easily be made for it. The non-DSP code has been reorganized to ease the re-use of functions and the implementation of image/sound I/O functions by third-party developers. Brightness correction, a parameter similar to gamma correction, has been added. It makes spectrograms brighter, which allows for better visibility when editing a spectrogram and better sounding results.

Bugzilla is the leading open-source/free software bug tracking system, with high-profile installations at mozilla.org, GNOME, Red Hat, and NASA, among others. It features a comprehensive set of fields, attachment management, inter-bug dependencies, email notification of changes, a powerful query interface, reporting, and Web, XML, email, and console interfaces. It can be managed entirely using a Web-based UI. The user UI is customizable using templates. License: Mozilla Public License (MPL) Changes: This is the latest stable version, containing several useful bugfixes over 3.0.3, particularly for the inbound email interface. Gammu (formerly known as MyGnokii2) is a cellular manager for various mobile phones/modems. It supports a wide variety of Nokia, Symbian, and AT devices (Siemens, Alcatel, Falcom, WaveCom, IPAQ, Samsung, SE, and others) over cables, infrared, or BlueTooth. It contains libraries with functions for ringtones, phonebook, SMS, logos, WAP, date/time, alarm, calls, and more (used by external applications like Wammu). It also includes a command line utility that can make many things (including backups) and an SMS gateway with full MySQL and PostgreSQL support from the PHP interface. Deliantra is a client for Deliantra game servers. samhain is a daemon that can check file integrity, search the file tree for SUID files, and detect kernel module rootkits (Linux only). It can be used either standalone or as a client/server system for centralized monitoring, with strong (192-bit AES) encryption for client/server connections and the option to store databases and configuration files on the server. For tamper resistance, it supports signed database/configuration files and signed reports/audit logs. It has been tested on Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, and Unixware. License: GNU General Public License (GPL) Changes: It is possible to store the full content of (small) files in the baseline database, which allows this release to determine what has changed in a file. TuxGuitar is a multitrack guitar tablature editor and player written in Java-SWT. It can open GuitarPro, PowerTab, and TablEdit files. EFEU is suitable for handling data cubes, which are especially useful for building data warehouses. It consists of a building system including mkmf (a xmkmf like Makefile generator), esh (a powerful C/C++ interpreter), efeudoc (a document generator with different output formats (LaTeX, HTML, roff, etc.)). echinus is a lightweight window manager for X based on dwm's source code. It manages windows in tiled, maximized, and floating layouts. It is extremely small, rather fast, and supports Xft. It features nice titlebars, multiple desktops, theming support, a simple configuration file, the ability to switch desktops with the mouse wheel, X bitmaps for title buttons, and true transparency support (through xcompmgr). There is no need to recompile or restart X to change its configuration. License: MIT/X Consortium License Changes: This release adds support for the Windows key (Mod4). P4A_DB::quote() method's 2nd parameter "autoquote" is now false by default, solving some problems with P4A_Data_Field::getSQLValue() and getSQLNewValue(). When P4A_DB_Source needs a quoted value, it uses P4A_DB->quote() with autoquote turned on. The P4A_DB::quote() method, if the autoquote parameter is on, always encloses the value within single quotes. jQuery::form was updated to 2.0.8. jQuery::iFixPNG was updated to 2.1. P4A_Menu's CSS was changed a bit, solving a bug with IE6. P4A_DB_Navigator movements were disabled (due to the unavailable jQuery UI).

ccurve_create.tcl is a TCL script (plus associated csh scripts) that makes it is possible to calculate cooling curves (plasma emissivities, in units of erg cm^3 s^-1) as a function of plasma temperature using the hot plasma codes available in the XSPEC spectral fitting program. Element-or-line-specific cooling functions can also be created. These can be used in hydrodynamical simulations to assess the total cooling rate, calculate the luminosity in a specific wavelength/energy range, or more generally to calculate X-ray or UV line diagnostics.

Knitter produces a 3-dimensional model of a knitting pattern. It supports KnitML, as well as a native language similar to that of traditional knitting patterns. It uses wxWidgets as a GUI framework and is available for Windows, Unix, and OS X.

Plash is a sandbox for running GNU/Linux programs with minimum privileges. It is suitable for running both command line and GUI programs. It can dynamically grant Gtk-based GUI applications access rights to individual files that you want to open or edit. This happens transparently through the Open/Save file chooser dialog box, by replacing GtkFileChooserDialog. Plash virtualizes the file namespace and provides per-process/per-sandbox namespaces. It can grant processes read-only or read-write access to specific files and directories, mapped at any point in the filesystem namespace. It does not require modifications to the Linux kernel. SPTK (Simply Powerful Toolkit) is a cross-platform toolkit that provides a set of C++ classes for fast and easy application development. It provides GUI components that use FLTK, and features database support with seamless connection to GUI components. There are drivers for use of SQLite and PostgreSQL directly, as well as support for other database engines through UnixODBC. SPTK includes many classes for working with strings, dynamic arrays, and maps, and is faster and has a smaller footprint than STL. It also supports reading, writing, and creating Excel 7 files, high-level GUI components with dataset support, support for automatic layouts, and support for Aspell. libmemcached is a C client library for interfacing to a memcached server. It has been designed to be light on memory usage, thread safe and to provide full access to server side methods. The library has been designed to allow for different hashing methods on keys, partitioning by keys, and to use consistent hashing for distribution. Tcpreplay is a set of Unix tools which allows the editing and replaying of captured network traffic in pcap (tcpdump) format. It can be used to test a variety of passive and inline network devices, including IPS's, UTM's, routers, firewalls, and NIDS. License: BSD License (original) Changes: This release dramatically improves packet timing, introduces full fragroute support in tcprewrite, and improves Windows/Cygwin and FreeBSD support.
